Welcome to Bayshore Villas Candidasa. After a tiring 1.5 hour trip from Kuta, I felt like arriving in an oasis here. The air felt fresh and cool with the lush green scenery around. Bayshore Villas & Bayside Bungalows is easy to find since it’s located by the main road of Candidasa.
The hotel lobby was set in a large pavilion that opens on all sides and provides shelter from the sun and rain, but allows breeze and indirect light. It was heavily decorated in Balinese style, think wooden & stone sculptures, and some flower arrangements.
Check-in process was quite straightforward. A nice young lady then escorted me walking through a large garden, heading to my accommodation for the next 4 days & 3 nights in Candidasa, Bali.
It offers two private residence styles, either upstairs with panoramic views or downstairs with private plunge pool. I stayed upstairs, and it was very spacious with a large living & dining room, two rooms and two bathrooms (total approximately 160 sq meters and able to accommodate up to 8 adults). This private residence is a blend of both modern European fittings complimented with traditional style. They were fully furnished with complete kitchenette (and a free supply of mineral water). It is suitable for short or long term occupancy.
Bayshore residence is not the only option. You can choose from other several types like villas (deluxe & superior), suites (panorama, poolside, terrace, ocean), and bayside bungalows. Depends on how many people you bring to stay in. But the best part is all units are privately separated by the lush tropical garden. I think it’s one of the best parts staying in Bayshore Villas Candidasa.
The bed was great, comfortable, and huge. The main bedroom was completed with its own plasma TV. The AC in each room was working fine in silent.
The bathroom was spacious with great lighting. Hot and cold shower (they even have two rain showers in the main bathroom). Towels and toiletries were all set (I didn’t notice if there’s any hair dryer, but I think it was there too).
Power sockets in useful places, but to highlight it here, people have more and more devices these days, so I think some additional power sockets will keep guests happy.
Wifi connection was free and worked either with a code or with your room details.
The Terrace Restaurant
The restaurant of Bayshore Villas Candidasa is situated next to the pool in a tropical setting. Offering both western and Indonesian cuisine, the restaurant will cater for any special dietary requirements and welcome the children with their own little people’s menu. Don’t miss the romantic dinner in this restaurant.
Breakfast. It was lovely to start the day with the hearty breakfast and got warmly greeted by the owner himself, Mr. Bradley Griffiths. The pancake was made special, and the fried rice was good. My big question for Brad was why our sunny side-up egg always got cut in the middle. Where was the other half? 😉
The food. It was all delicious, some items like curry and soups were served inside the coconut shell. Tropical exotic. The restaurant even offers daily specials to the menu. Sadly for my biggy happy tummy some food came in small portions. Remind me to order bigger portion next time 😉
Room service? Yes, even when you feel like not going out of your room, the waiter/waitress will always be ready to come up with a smile delivering your breakfast/lunch/dinner to your door.
The Swimming Pool
Private plunge pool. Located downstairs in the residences, this pool was set in the lush tropical garden, it also provides you a secluded place to unwind and relax.
The central swimming pool. It’s huge with varied depths, as well as a couple of fountains to get that shoulder massage. Feeling thirsty? They have a pool bar attached to the restaurant. The sun lounges were also comfortable.
Infinity pool. Located next to the beach of Candidasa, overlooking Nusa Penida Island. Forget the beach, but for me this is the best place for sunset view. And to be alone.
Also Must Try
B-Spa. Offering two private therapy rooms set in the tropical garden with flowing water. The B-SPA offers a selection of services from 1 hour relaxation massages to the complete full/half day treatments, specializing in massages, waxing, pedicures, manicures, hot stone massages to rose petal baths.
Tour and Transport. The vehicles are all new with AC and English speaking drivers that can act as your tour guide. There are some attractions nearby like Perasi beach, hiking the Mumbul hills, or visiting traditional villages. Bayshore also owns a boat to take you on the special day out.
Bayshore Villas Candidasa is an attractive place located along the stunning coast of eastern Bali close to tranquil and pristine white-sand beach of Perasi. You can spend a blissful day relaxing in three types of swimming pool, pamper yourself at the spa, or even have some dolce far niente moment in your villa. It’s perfect for a romantic getaway, family staycation, private beach weddings, honeymooners or even lovebirds seeking to capture the splendor of Bali.

This post was made possible by Bayshore Villas & Bayside Bungalows which invited me to have their villa experience in January 2016. However this review was written solely on my own opinion. My very best gratitude to Bradley Griffiths and all the staff who made my Candidasa staycation came true. Also credits to Richo & Bobby who helped me captured some self photos.
